Dear Jasmine,

I cannot begin to imagine the pain and grief you and your family are experiencing. Please accept my deepest condolences. I pray that your heart finds some ease and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

Although I never had the honour of meeting Uncle Dr Ayer, everything I know about him through you tells me he was a remarkable human being — a devoted father, a compassionate academic, and a kind soul. The love and admiration you held for him were always evident in the way you spoke — your fond memories, the stories of his patience and wisdom, and his unwavering commitment to supporting the vulnerable in society were deeply moving.

Your love, care, and dedication to your father were truly admirable. The bond you shared was something very special and unbreakable. I have no doubt he was immensely proud of you.

Please know that I’m here for you in any way you need. May his legacy continue through the lives he touched and the important work he did in mental health. May his memory be a source of strength and inspiration for generations to come.

I’m praying that Allah soothes your heart and eases the pain for you and your family.

With much love and ongoing prayers,
Yasmin Egala and family. X

A tribute to a brother in- law , Dr Sam Ayer.
My heart is heavy and aching as I write this tribute. Although there was not much interaction, I knew him as a quiet and private person, as you depart from us to your maker. May your gentle soul rest well in the arms of the Lord.
Good bye.
Uncle Sam.

Jaz - I never got the chance to meet Dr.Ayer, but you always spoke about him so highly not only as as astounding academic with a wealth of knowledge but as an incredibly dedicated and loving father who I know you loved immensely with the whole of your heart and then some. Many of the traits you spoke about in your father are many of your own, and I'm sure live on in your siblings and your niece. His legacy lives on and to Jaz, the rest of Dr.Ayer's family and his friends, please know you are all in my thoughts and I can not imagine the grief you're all going through currently. Simply saying I give my condolences doesn't feel like enough to commemorate the man Jaz spoke about often and so highly.

To my dear friend Jasmine,
Although I never had the honor of meeting your father, I know how deeply he was loved and admired through the stories shared by you. He was clearly a man of great kindness and wisdom, someone whose presence brought comfort and guidance. It's clear he had a profound impact on those around him. My heart and prayers are with you during this time, may his memory be a source of strength and peace.

I’m deeply sorry for the loss of a father who by all accounts, was a truly remarkable man. Though I never had the privilege of meeting him, I see the strength, kindness, and warmth he must have passed on through the wonderful person that is my friend Jasmine. His legacy clearly lives on in her and that is a testament to the life he led and the love he gave.

Wishing comfort and peace to all who knew and loved him.
